How to Throw the Perfect Halloween Event

If you’re like me, you’ve already been in the fall spirit for a while—the Halloween spirit specifically! Luckily for me, this holiday is perfect for throwing a fun party! Whether this is just a casual gathering amongst friends or a full-blown Halloween wedding, I’ve outlined everything you need for the big day: food, drink, rental table linen and decor. See if my tips will help you for your celebration!

Food

If you’re a foodie who loves to throw a touch of fun into every dish, a Halloween party is your time to shine! Halloween is all about candy, so get in touch with your sweet tooth by offering a candy hors d’oeuvre station. Here, you can feature all the classics: chocolates, sweet fruit chews, hard candy, mini chocolate bars and more. Your main courses can be fall classics, like pigs in a blanket or hot dogs. For dessert, try whipping up some candy corn Rice Krispie treats, or pumpkin chocolate pudding (served in hollowed out oranges with jack-o-lantern designs). Give guests a take-home favor—small boxes filled with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate so they can keep the festive fall atmosphere going after they leave your fabulous Halloween party!

Drink

Halloween is the perfect time to serve up fun mixed drinks. My favorite? The zombie cocktail! This drink combines apricot brandy with dark, light and high-proof rum. Mix these spirits with grenadine and orange juice to get a beautiful—and delicious—drink! For a non-alcoholic drink, I love the look (and taste!) of vampire punch, which is a simple mix of corn syrup, sherbet, grapefruit juice, club soda and red food coloring. If you’re serving up pre-bottled drinks like beer, cider or soda, get festive and serve them in a hollowed out pumpkin filled with a bowl of ice!

Rental Table Linen

For your Halloween party, you can choose from a variety of different looks. Try any of the following:

Pumpkin Orange Table Linen— When paired with the Gold Miramar Runner and Florence Mocha charger plate, this tablescape design really shines!

Orange Chevron Table Runner—Give your tables a fun accent with the Orange Chevron table runner. You can pair this with white rental table linen, or use it on its own!

Leaf Miramar Table Cloth— Not everything about a Halloween event has to be orange! Break away from tradition with this lovely pistachio green rental table linen.

Other Decorations

Halloween decoration often include spider webs, pumpkins and skull prints

Now that you’ve decided on your rental table linen, add in some fun accents. Here are some of my favorite decorations to add in to any Halloween party:

  • Glittered pumpkins
  • Bat mobile
  • Terrariums filled with (fake!) bugs
  • Skull prints
  • Cobwebs strewn across mirrors

Weddings

Now, all of the above ideas are meant for a classic Halloween party, but they can easily work for a gorgeous Halloween wedding, too! Follow the same ideas for rental table linen and decor, but consider adding in other touches, like a vintage chandelier with fake cobwebs strewn about, for added glam.
