How to Dress Up a Budget-friendly Venue

Creating a beautiful event experience is at the heart of event planning. When budgets are tight, it’s important to make the right choices that will give you more bang for your buck. Creating that perfect look is easier than you think. A little creativity can go a long way! Here are a few ways you can turn an ordinary venue into an extraordinary venue.

1. Choose table linen wisely.

If you’re budget doesn’t allow for a complete linen package, choose the linen or accessories that will make a difference.  For example, use the one piece of linen you love as the accent piece (runners, napkins) to accentuate a basic linen from your venue.

2. Reconsider traditional table sizes.

Instead of a traditional highboy table, choose a table that doesn’t require a tie.

3. Review your options for chair accessories.

Depending on the chair type your venue has, you might have options for chair covers, belts, sashes, jackets and more. Choose the one that will make the most dramatic look yet is friendly on your wallet.

4. Decorate with food.

The wedding food and drink menu you choose and the way it’s arranged on platters can add lots of glamour to your big day. Assorted apothecary jars of candy or citrus fruit can create a festive mood, while dazzling trays and farm fresh cheeses and crusty bread can immediately lend a more rustic feeling.

5. Go crazy with candles.

There’s nothing more romantic than a dim room lit only by the glow of hundreds of candles. And fortunately, candles are inexpensive!

Use candles as much as possible since they are inexpensive.

6. Light it up.

String lights on a white cord are always a fun and budget friendly decoration. They can make beautiful addition to any wedding reception venue when strung from the ceiling or placed along the bar area. They can also be placed around tables, around the cake, or in potted plants. If you don’t want to use string lights, consider paper lanterns instead.

7. Keep floral arrangements and centerpieces simple.

Large bouquets can be pricy. Instead, why not place single flowers in empty wine bottles or colorful, vintage glassware? Mason jars are also still very trendy and can make for a chick presentation.

8. Use color to make a visual impact.

Using a rich hue such as red or deep eggplant can give any color palette a stylish look without costing you any extra money. These classic colors also work great with other colors and shades.
