If you’re planning an event, you’ve probably seen some table designs that you’d love to recreate. Sometimes, though, you may be wondering where to even start to create your event table—and that’s where I come in to help! Follow my guide to picking the perfect rental table linen and table décor.
Pick a Color Theme
Before you begin designing your tablescape, you’ll need to decide on what color (or colors!) you’d like to use. You may opt for a subdued palette for a corporate function, whereas you might go with brighter colors for a child’s birthday party. I always suggest starting with a base color and then building it out with accents. Need some inspiration? Take a look at Megan and Anthony’s gold and pink wedding. The two colors perfectly balance one another out without becoming overwhelming—exactly what you need for event tables.
Start With Table Linen
Now that you’ve narrowed down a color scheme, you can pick your table cloths. These are the base of your table design, so choose one that really fits with your event. For a casual event, I love neutral table linen. Still, I’m equally obsessed with table cloths in bold shades, like Radiant Orchid.
Add in an Overlay or Table Runner
If you chose a neutral table cloth color, add in a little glitz with your table runner! Take this Mercury Sequin look, for example. The table runner is bold without overpowering the tablescape. Paired with the cream table cloth and touches of color, the design is balanced and chic. You could also choose something more subtle, like the Zuri and Zecora table runners.
Choose a Chair Cover, Ties, Belts or Pads
If you’re using rental hall chairs, you may want to jazz them up a bit with some kind of accessory. Here, you can choose extravagant floor chair covers, or you can opt for a simple yet elegant chair tie.
Pick Your Table Accessories
To round out your overall table design, add in some table decorations. Think gorgeous centerpieces, accent candles and lots of flowers—and don’t be afraid to use all three!
