Host a Spectacular Sweet 16 Party

Have a teen in your life who will be turning the big 1-6 soon? Throw her a Sweet 16 party! Follow my tips for a day they’ll love.

Whimsical Tablescape

Fun colorfully designed tablescape incorporating a palette of colorsA Sweet 16 party is all about staying lighthearted, and your table design should reflect that! To create a fun tablescape, start with a rental table linen in a neutral shade, like cream. From here, you can add in your teen’s favorite colors! My favorite combination? Mauve pink, blush pink and kelly green! This palette screams young while still feeling totally refined. Incorporate these colors in through your charger plates and napkins. Start by draping blush pink napkins on your neutral table linen. Then, place smaller kelly green plates atop a base mauve pink charger. For added flair, you can place an adorable daisy on the plates. The final look will be positively youthful and gorgeous!

Other Decoration Ideas

A tablescape design requires tablecloth, napkins, plates and a palette of event inspired colorsNow that you have decided on which table top linen rental to use for the party, you’ll want to consider adding in final decorative touches. For this, it’s all about personalization. Here, think of your teen’s favorite colors again for adorable touches, like streamers, balloons, candles or tea lights. You can even include your teen’s interests here. Does he or she love candy? Set up a candy bar and have candy placed atop your rental table linen. Perhaps your teen loves photography instead. For this, set up disposable cameras on all the tables so guests can capture the day. While your teen may be more focused on hanging out with friends at this Sweet 16 bash, he or she will still appreciate any thoughtful decor you have for the celebration.

Tasty Treats

A Sweet 16 party is about hanging out with friends, playing games and having fun. That means when it comes to your menu, you can keep it relaxed—after all, the teens at the event won’t be expecting a five-course meal! Instead, you can keep it simple by offering an array of appetizer-style foods. Think veggies and dip, grilled potato skins, macaroni bites, chicken fries and more. If you want to venture beyond just appetizers, you could also offer sandwiches like pulled pork or grilled cheese with avocado. Of course, no Sweet 16 would be complete without some dessert! Guests will love sugary sweet red velvet cupcakes or cake pops. You can even create a cake table with sparkly table top linen rentals for a perfectly polished look.
