Gorgeous Ideas for an Apricot Event in Winter

I recently told you how much I love orange-infused events—the color just brings everything to life! For winter, though, I love the look of orange’s lighter, more whimsical cousin—apricot! This peachy pastel packs a punch, yet it has a subdued aesthetic. Love apricot as much as I do? Follow my guide to see how you can incorporate the color into all aspects of your event, including food, drinks, rental table linen, decor and more!

If you decide to take your theme literally when planning your menu, you’ll have endless options from which you can choose. To start out your meal, you can serve appetizers like grilled apricot, ricotta and thyme on crostinis, caramelized apricots with goat cheese and pistachios, and roasted apricots with mascarpone and blackberry drizzled with honey. You could then serve up fresh greens with apricot salad dressing. Follow the salad course with an apricot-inspired chicken dish, including spicy, roasted or glazed apricot options. For dessert, offer a variety of apricot-inspired desserts, like square cake with apricot icing and gold striped icing, apricot cheesecake pockets, or apricot and almond shortbread tart.

If you’d rather save the apricot for your rental table linen and decor, you can serve other winter-esque options for your menu, like carrot and sweet potato soup, beet salad, roast beef, garlic roasted tomatoes and creamed spinach. Your dessert options are unlimited, too—try anything from sticky toffee cake to gingerbread whoopie pies with vanilla buttercream filling! Of course, feel free to mix and match different dishes from both the apricot and non-apricot menus!

For your drink menu, you can again go the all-apricot route and serve drinks like apricot lime mojitos, apricot iced tea or sparkling white peach sangria. Or, you could opt for simple winter options, like mulled wine, caramel apple cider or buttered rum cocktails.

One of my favorite options is the Bellini bar, complete with champagne and a variety of mixers. Here, you can incorporate apricot as one of the juices, along with peach puree, champagne, peach schnapps, peach nectar, grenadine, grapefruit juice, passion fruit juice and more. Make sure to use a sequin rental table linen for your Bellini bar for a stunning presentation.

Now that you have your menu down, you can focus on your apricot-infused decor! Here are some ideas that will give your event a fresh zest:

  • Fill wooden boxes with fresh apricots. Accented with crisp white table linen, this centerpiece will be an attention-grabber!
  • Incorporate an accent color, like mint. Even if used sparingly, like for the centerpieces or rental napkins, it will give your tablescape depth.
  • Hang white and cream lanterns alongside floral circular balls in coral and apricot colors, and round out the look with streamers for a dreamy décor design.
