Choosing the Right Chair Covers for your Wedding

As you’re planning your wedding, you’ve undoubtedly covered all the bases.
Or so you thought!

You may have the dress, the food, the entertainment and even the table linen bought, scheduled and rented, but what about your chairs?

Ah, yes, the chair—it’s such an underrated, yet completely essential component of events, specifically weddings. Without chairs, where would your guests go to dine for their meal or sit in between busting a move on the dance floor?

While chairs are designed specifically with functionality in mind, that doesn’t mean you can’t spruce them up a bit with some kind of cover. Here, I’ve outlined some of the top ways you can deck out your wedding chairs to fit your big day:

The Type of Chair Cover

OK, so you want to decorate your chairs, but where do you start? First, examine your options. Most chair covers come as full-fledged covers, ties, bands or pads. Of course, the decision is up to you, but consider what other details you’ve got going on at your tables. If you have attention-grabbing centerpieces, you may want to choose a subdued chair accent, like the chair pad. But if your table is relatively low key, you may want to choose eye catching chair covers, like this rosette chair back.

Fitting the Theme of Your Day

You can match your chair covers to the color scheme of your wedding, or you can choose something completely different. If you used a neutral table cloth, your chair covers could be your chance to introduce a pop of color. Or, if your table linen is in a bright shade, like radiant orchid or cayenne, your chair covers could be a more subtle tone.

Your chairs are also the time to place let your personality shine with individual accents. For example,

if you chose chair ties and are having a destination beach wedding, use burlap ties with a starfish in the center of the chair. If you love sentiment and have some heirlooms, like brooches from a grandmother that you’d like incorporate into your wedding in some way, attach them to the chair covers. They’ll make your wedding look completely out of the ordinary, and it’s a sweet gesture.
