2013 is full of fresh design trends in the event world, and we can’t wait to contribute and see just how our clients interpret them to fit their style. Whether it’s a wedding or social event, these themes and color combinations reign:
While we saw many weddings and events last year where rustic barn elegance was the design style that ran rampant, this year is all about whimsy. Think bright colors, sparkle, bows, balloons, and little tongue in cheek design elements. Pictured is our Blumen Shantung linen with an Emerald Lamour napkin and Gold Prescott napkin ring.
The Great Gatsby
With the anticipation of The Great Gatsby film release later this year, there’s a major renewed interest in all things art deco. Art Deco is traditionally recognized as bold geometric shapes in conjunction with vivid, high contrast colors. Black, gold and ivory work beautifully as base colors in this motif, and adding a pop of pastel color really brings the look to life. Pictured is our Ivory Ava Jacquard linen (coming soon!), Black Shantung runner and Gold Luxe charger.
With the immense popularity of this TV series, the regal and timeless formality of aristocratic weddings is being reinterpreted to meet our modern aesthetic. Taking bits and pieces of design from this era and lifestyle, like monochromatic florals, heavy silver candelabra and neutral but embellished linen can provide the feeling of Downton opulence without feeling dated. And if you want to head over to the UK to get hitched, you can really get married at “Downton Abbey”- in real life, Highclere Castle! Pictured is our Champagne Deidra linen and Silver Shantung napkin.
So have you seen any interesting new event themes lately? Which is your favorite?
